The online application process means a student only needs to complete one application and the software will determine their eligibility for any scholarships they may qualify for.  Students will need to provide the name and email address of at least 2 references.  An email will be sent to those references selected by the student to recommend them for a scholarship.  The email will provide step-by-step instructions to complete the online process for the recommendations.

Step 1: Fill out Application 

Application will require you to create a California Community College Account

 

Step 2: Send Official Transcripts:

See Mrs. Walker (VHS Registrar) for a copy of your transcripts to send to Sierra

 

Step 3: Activate your "My Sierra Account"

Will receive instructions via email after application is processed

 

Step 4: See if you are eligible for free tuition

 

Step 5: Apply for Financial Aid or California Dream Act

 

Step 6: Attend Career and Academic Planning (CAP)

New students are required to attend a Career and Academic Planning Session

 

Step 7: Make Appointment with Sierra College Counselor: (916) 660-7400

 

Step 8: Register for Classes online 

Access My Sierra Account, click "Add/Drop Classes" on Registration & Student Records page

 

Step 9: Pay your class fees (https://www.sierracollege.edu/admissions/costs.php)

 

Step 10: Pick up Student ID (at Student Records office on campus)
